Bryan Johnson is a serial entrepreneur and investor. In 2007 Johnson founded Braintree, an online and mobile payments provider. He and his team aimed to build an exceptional company, one that they and their customers loved, and one worthy of frequent love letters. Their passion and commitment to excellence attracted many of the world's most discerning merchants, and Braintree became a critical component to the infrastructure of some of the world’s fastest-growing tech-enabled services (e.g. Airbnb, GitHub, OpenTable, Uber). Inc. Magazine included Braintree in its “Fastest Growing Private Companies” list in 2011 & 2012. Braintree was profitably bootstrapped for its first four years and was later purchased by PayPal/eBay in 2013 for $800 million.

Today Johnson is an investor in technological advancements that promise to reinvent the operating systems of life. He is an investor and director at Human Longevity, Inc. (HLI). Founded by Dr. Craig Venter, who sequenced the first human genome and created the world’s first synthetic organism, HLI is assembling the world's largest genotype/phenotype database (combining microbiome, metabolome and clinical data) to extend healthy life. Johnson is also an investor in Vicarious, which aims to replicate the visual cortex and create a thinking machine; and Planetary Resources, which will explore space and mine asteroids of precious materials. Johnson earned an MBA from The University of Chicago and a BA in international studies from Brigham Young University.
