Caitlin Hamood joins XPRIZE with over five years of experience in philanthropy and additional experience in the nonprofit sector. She serves as the Manger of Prize Operations for the Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE, supporting a global competition to encourage teams to push the boundaries of ocean technologies and advance the science of ocean exploration.
Prior to joining XPRIZE, Ms. Hamood was a program officer with Mott Philanthropic, a philanthropic consulting firm in Boston, where she worked with family foundations and individual donors whose grant-making addressed environmentalism, progressive policy, arts and culture, and K-12 education. She also served in the AmeriCorps VISTA program as the volunteer and outreach coordinator for a refugee resettlement agency in Minneapolis, and has additional nonprofit experience with organizations focused on homelessness and community organizing.Ms. Hamood holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, where she studied a variety of religious traditions; the intersection of religion, economics, and politics; and religious responses to refugee resettlement. She also received a BA in History and French from Amherst College.
