Centenarian Genes to Launch $10m Science Prize

Genetic samples from some of the world’s longest-lived citizens will be used in a $10-million competition aimed at encouraging personalised medicine, the contest organisers said on Wednesday.

The Archon Genomics X Prize will be awarded to a team that within the space of 30 days sequences the genetic code of 100 centenarians at a maximum cost of $1,000 per individual.
