Robin Hood Joins X PRIZE Foundation to Battle Poverty Worldwide

Robin Hood and X PRIZE have joined forces to take aim at poverty from a radical new perspective.
By engaging entrepreneurs and thought leaders from around the world in a series of global incentivized competitions, the two organizations aim to discover effective solutions to some of the most crippling aspects of poverty.
These competitions will be the first of their kind designed specifically to battle poverty the world over. By offering a substantial prize and soliciting crowd-sourced solutions from around the globe, Robin Hood and X PRIZE hope to identify new approaches to battling poverty that can be put to the test via pilot programs in New York City.
Robin Hood founder Paul Tudor Jones, II said, “Tonight, we’re introducing R&D to TLC. Over the years, Robin Hood has done a lot of good for a lot of people, but I believe our partnership with the X PRIZE Foundation could be the most transformative event in our history.”
Peter Diamandis, Chairman and CEO of the X PRIZE Foundation, added, “Robin Hood Foundation is highly regarded for their 24 year history of making a real difference to the poor of New York City. By joining forces with X PRIZE, together we will innovate the way we attack the root causes of poverty in New York and the world.”
