Since March 2019, I have served as a quantum computing expert at Covestro. In October 2018, I moved to the University of Cologne and officially started working with Xanadu Quantum Technologies Inc. in Toronto. Prior to this, I was engaged in research at ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences in Barcelona, working alongside Antonio Acín and Maciej Lewenstein. During my tenure there, I was honored with both an ICFOnest+ and a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship (NIMBqUS). This followed a joint postdoctoral research position at ICFO and the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching.

I completed my Ph.D. in theoretical physics in July 2014 under the guidance of Jens Eisert at the Quantum Information Theory group, Freie Universität Berlin, supported by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes. Prior to my Ph.D., I was affiliated with the Universität Potsdam until October 2011, spent time as a visiting student under Andreas Winter at the University of Bristol until September 2010, and completed my master's thesis at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg in April 2010.

Since 2016, I have co-founded and been a member of the Executive Board of Quantum - the open journal for quantum science. I am one of the key developers of PennyLane, a sophisticated library designed for the optimization of variational quantum circuits and quantum machine learning, integrating automatic differentiation. Additionally, I contribute to the development of the quantum computing simulators StrawberryFields and ProjectQ.
