Rob Lock joined Blue Origin after a three-decade career at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory where his passion was increasing human knowledge in space science, engineering and technology. He developed advanced concepts and mission architectures and led flight design and operations for several planetary missions. He contributed to a number of breakthroughs including the first use of aerobraking at any planet (Venus), exponential increases in planetary science data return, first time electric propulsion missions to Mars, and led an international mission design team for Mars sample return. At Blue Origin, he studies and designs advanced concepts to further the company’s vision of enabling millions of people to live and work in space for the benefit of Earth. His interests include travel, science fiction and stained glass design. He lives in Southern California
