Dr. Sofiya Milman is a physician-scientist and a Professor of Medicine (Endocrinology) and Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She directs the Human Longevity Program at Einstein’s Institute for Aging Research, funded by NIH and AFAR, where she leads an interdisciplinary research program on resilience to aging that aims to identify biological mechanisms that promote healthy longevity.

Dr. Milman’s research focuses on a unique population of centenarians and their families who are protected from age-related diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Milman contributed to books and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. Her work on circulating hormones in older adults spurred a paradigm shift in the understanding of the biology of human aging and led to an ongoing preclinical trial of a therapeutic agent.
