“We believe in increasing health and decreasing human suffering. Alzheimer’s disease is the ultimate thief—robbing families and communities of financial resources and stealing away people’s memories, abilities, personality, and ultimately their loved ones.
The Alzheimer’s Disease Impact Proposal is vitally needed work because humans are living longer. If we live long enough, we will all experience cognitive decay. We need to match brain span to life span. The future belongs to the generation that fully decodes the mysteries of the human brain. Work in the Alzheimer’s space paves the way not only for a Nobel Prize but for healthy minds to become better. If we can cure Alzheimer’s, we can upgrade who we are as a species. That is a future worth working for."
- ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE TEAM
The Alzheimer’s Braintrust is a group of individuals from diverse industries and backgrounds with one goal in mind: End Alzheimer’s Disease. Alzheimer’s is 100% incurable and 100% fatal. It affects almost half of individuals over 85. The number of cases is soaring, and the disease will be the sinkhole of the 21st century unless it is stopped.
By sponsoring the Alzheimer’s XPRIZE, the Braintrust hopes to eliminate the disease and the incredible financial and emotional costs associated with it. Guided by Ken Dychtwald and George Vradenburg, additional members of the Braintrust are Meryl Comer, Paul Dolan, John Dwyer, Ric Edelman, Emanuel J. Friedman Philanthropies, Daniel Katz, Andrew Sieg, and Frank Sullivan.
