AN AGING GLOBAL POPULATION

Between 2015 and 2050, the world's population over 60 years old is expected to almost double from 12% to 22%. This extensive demographic shift, where 1 in 5 individuals will be considered elderly, combined with a conventional medicine system that treats disease symptoms without effectively extending human health, positions us for a future where millions will be left struggling with poor health and health-related economic challenges.

XPRIZE is determined to change this future for the better. XPRIZE Healthspan is a 7-year $101 million global competition to revolutionize the way we approach human aging. Competing teams will develop therapeutics that extend healthy life and restore muscle, cognition, and immune function by a minimum of 10 years, with a goal of 20 years.

IMPACTFUL PARTNERSHIPS TO ADVANCE HEALTHY AGING

We are honored to collaborate with mission-aligned partners to bring together thought leaders and competing teams from around the world to create novel solutions for healthy aging. This year, XPRIZE Healthspan will host its first Public Town Hall at the 14th annual International Conference on Frailty and Sarcopenia Research (ICFSR) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

XPRIZE HEALTHSPAN'S PUBLIC TOWN HALL: HEALTHY AGING MADE POSSIBLE

XPRIZE EVP, Health, and Executive Director of XPRIZE Healthspan, Dr. Jamie Justice will be joined by an esteemed panel of speakers including Dr. Laura Goetz (Medical Deputy, XPRIZE Healthspan), Dr. Lauren Pierpoint (Senior Researcher, XPRIZE Healthspan), Dr. Luigi Ferrucci (Scientific Director, National Institute on Aging), and Dr. Eva Chin (Executive Director, SOLVE FSHD).
