About Us

CarbonCure is a Canadian CO2 utilization technology provider for the global concrete industry. It has been recognized as the most scalable CO2 Utilization technology by the Global CO2 Initiative and listed among the Top 100 Global Cleantech companies for the past four years, and was selected as North America's Company of the Year by the Cleantech Group in 2020. CarbonCure concrete has been used in the construction of hundreds of projects ranging from commercial high-rise buildings to simple driveways. The technology is uniquely positioned to scale due to its quick and simple plant retrofit design, no upfront fee licensing model, supply chain and regulatory integration and compelling profitability and greenhouse gas customer benefits. To compete in the Carbon XPRIZE and to expedite scaling, CarbonCure is working with players across its value chain, including: Lafarge Canada, Thomas Concrete USA, Sustainable Energy Solutions, Praxair, Kline Consulting and construction design firms such as B+H, Dialog, RJC, LS3P, UZUN+CASE and Walter P. Moore. Team CarbonCure firmly believes that demonstrating the creation of value across all points of the supply chain is vitally important to achieving our common goals of massive CO2 reductions and commercial success.

CarbonCure has commercialized an expanding portfolio of CO2 utilization technologies to create material performance improvements, manufacturing cost efficiencies, CO2 and water reductions and market differentiation for the global concrete industry. The retrofit technology uses the existing concrete production equipment and Portland cement chemistry to react with captured CO2 emissions to produce an in-situ nano-sized mineral carbonate embedded within the concrete. The nano-material enhances the material properties and economics of concrete manufacturing without impacting normal plant operations or supply chain. Best of all, this mineralization reaction results in the CO2 being removed from the atmosphere, permanently. Team CarbonCure is pursuing an approach that incorporates both business model and technology innovation that is compatible with industry needs, in order to deliver CO2 emission reductions at a scale and schedule that will meaningfully contribute to the 2°C degree climate targets.

As President of CarbonCure, Jennifer oversees the company's operations and guides the team in order to meet the company’s ambitious growth targets. Jennifer is Team CarbonCure’s team lead in the $20 million NRG COSIA Carbon XPRIZE competition, and the $35 million Emissions Reduction Alberta Grand Challenge. Jennifer was recognized as one of Canada’s Clean 50 Emerging Leaders in 2019, and a Climate Trailblazer at the 2018 Global Climate Action Summit. Jennifer is a CSA-Certified Greenhouse Gas Inventory Quantifier, and has been involved in many boards and committees with the Canada and US Green Building Councils, Health Product Declaration Collaborative, and Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Management. Jennifer holds a BSc from McGill University, as well as an MSc in Chemistry and an MBA from Dalhousie University.
