Jacob Furnari joins the XPRIZE team with 2 years of experience in social entrepreneurship, working to employ market-based strategy and human-centered design to empower people in need. He has contributed to development initiatives focused on innovative solutions for some the most pressing needs in the developing world and believes in the innate entrepreneurial nature of the poor. With hands-on experience in communities ranging from rural Argentina to agrarian East Africa to downtown Los Angeles, Mr. Furnari has learned that every community solution is unique and compassion is the champion of change.
Prior to XPRIZE Mr. Furnari helped design, build and scale a sustainable organic farm in Kigali, Rwanda and has acted as a nonprofit consultant in downtown Los Angeles.Mr. Furnari holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Social Entrepreneurship from Pepperdine University. He is a wannabe carpenter and a treehouse enthusiast with a knack for building things with his hands. Most of the time you’ll find him in the water, on the trail, or chasing his passion to create impact at the intersection of entrepreneurship and philanthropy.
